November 24th, 2009 at 3:15 amOY, what a day! Sarah had me running all day. She managed to wear me, Liz, Sophie, and Emma out. Seriously how many people does it take to care for a 22 month old?
When you find out let me know so I can hire some more people.
Sarah is into everything. While it’s exhausting it’s cute at the same time. Watching her find her independence is such a sight to see. She is so smart. She sees you do something once and she’s got it.
Her newest thing is bringing her red chair into the bathroom and turning on the water to wash her hands. One time I put the chair in there for her to stand on so she could wash her hands, and she thought what a grand idea. So now she does it all by herself. She can even turn the water on and off by herself.
She did it for the first time just the other day and being the wonderful Mum I am I took pictures and of course video. To share with all of you. LOL!
In the video I keep turning the water off and no sooner do I have it off she turns it back on. Not sure what all the grunting was about. She normally yells no these days.
Of course I got the perfect pic of her smiling while she was washing her hands too.
Today all the girls came home tired and kinda grumpy. Not sure what that was all about. Sophie said one of the little girls in her class made her so made that she just yelled at her. She couldn’t take it anymore. Sophie really isn’t a yeller so this girl must of been on her last nerve.
I need to get a pic of Sophie’s new hair cut. It looks so cute on her. She loves Selena Gomez from Disney Channels Wizards of Waverly Place. So she got a cut just like her and even though I’m not a fan of real short hair on younger girls it does really look cute on her. This morning I curled it under so it would look just right and sprayed it with hairspray so it would stay looking nice all day.
Sophie kept fluffing her hair and looking in the mirror before the bus got here. She just loves her new hair cut.
I asked Liz how school was and she said “Mom, it’s school. Of course it sucked.” LOL. I guess some things never change. I’m not sure if I mentioned this or not but Liz is doing really well in school. Last report card she made the “B” honor roll and as it stands right now she’s making almost all “A’s” I am so proud of her.
She’s been taking tours of various college campuses but still has no idea what she wants to do. We figure she will probably go to Kirkwood and have been going through their courses book to see what they all have to offer. So far nothing stands out for her yet. Deciding what to do career wise is not always an easy thing. Heck, I’m 38 and still don’t know what I want to do with my life. LOL
So for now, I’ll stick to doing my pixels, which I love to do and am amazed people are willing to pay me for my work. I also do survey’s online and test products at home. Though for some reason I’m not allowed to talk about the survey’s or most of the products I test. I even had to sign a confidentiality form.
Though I am testing out Aveeno baby shampoo and diaper rash cream. They even sent me coupons to pass around so others might try the shampoo and samples to pass out of the diaper cream.
I do like the shampoo and I also use it as a body wash on Sarah. Sarah has sensitive skin and this product seems like a good fit for her. Though I’m not a fan of the diaper cream and will continue with the brand I’ve been using for years.
It is neat to get a free product in the mail AND get paid to use it. The survey’s usually take about 10 minutes and they pay me for those too.
The first time the check came in the mail I was like OMG they are really paying me to do this. While it’s not a lot of money, it is still money.
Before you ask, no I can’t refer you at this point in time to be hired. But I did get an e-mail from them about a week ago that every now and again they will start taking referrals for others to join the team.
Brian brought home our turkey tonight! It’s just shy of 15lbs so I know that will be plenty big. This will be only my second turkey I’ve ever made. So if you have any tips on how to cook it please pass them along.
Since our dinner is so late, I think Brian and the younger girls are gonna go to his parents house for awhile. I am pretty sure he said their dinner was early so it works out perfectly for them to eat a lunch there and a dinner here. Though I imagine the menu will probably be the same. LOL With them gone it will give Liz and I the peace we need to get our dinner going. I’ve never made gravy on my own before so I’m a little worried about how thats gonna come out. Sure I’ve helped my Mom make it at her house. But she was always right there with me. Thinking I should have a jar of gravy on hand in case I mess it up. LOL…Let me think, a bit of water, drippings from the turkey and flour. Thats all I need right? Yeah, now you see why I’m worried. Bwhahahahahahahaha….
So this blog has gotten rather long so I will leave you with this quote from Jeff Gordon
“You’ve got to be the best person you can be in your life.”

Use a turkey bag. There’s not much of a way to mess up a turkey in the bag!
And I can’t believe how big Sarah is! It seems like we were just sending you baby presents a few months ago!

I agree with Janeen, use a turkey bag. Follow the directions for the weight of your turkey. I managed to over bake a turkey in a bag one time and it got too dry. I’m not the best at making gravy. Sometimes it turns out good, sometimes I get it too thick.
So Sarah has a little red chair. I had one when I was little like her but then one day when Mom was painting the cabinets in the kitchen the phone rang and by the time she got finished gabbing and came back to the kitchen my little red chair had been painted mostly white. *giggling*
Sarah’s so cute in the video. I think it’s great that parents can catch magic moments like that on video so easily nowadays.
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! xoxoxz
