A few weeks ago the girls school had a meet and greet. We got to see their classrooms and drop off their school supplies. I like how they do this before school starts instead of waiting until school is in session. Lets the kids be a little bit more prepared for their first day.

Going into the school. Got all our supplies and of course Sarah had to get in on the pic too.

Our first stop was Sophie’s class room. She’s in 2nd grade now.

Then off we went to meet Emma’s teachers. She’s in 6th grade and has two teachers. One is the same teacher she had last year. I think she’s teaching math. I can’t really remember and another is her main teacher.

Both are pregnant and they both look like they are due  about the same time. LOL  Looks like Emma is gonna be stuck with subs in both her classes the same time.

After we got everything settled we stopped in the school library to take a peek at the new laptops Emma’s class was being assigned.  Emma will be the first one to use it. She goes in the morning and checks it out and goes back at the end of the day and returns it.

They are moving to have more and more work done via computer now. I guess it’s the dawn of a new era.

While we were there I snapped a quick pic of the girls with the librarian.

After we left the school we went to McDonalds for a bite to eat to celebrate the new school year.

Two weeks ago we went to the mall to get some school shoes for Emma and Sophie.  Payless was having their BOGO 1/2 price sale so I thought that was the perfect place to go.

Both girls needed not only a new pair of sneakers of school but needed gym shoes that they have to leave at school.

We started the evening out at Godfathers Pizza which is a huge treat for us. We only eat there about once a year.  It was so yummy. After the girls got done eating they checked out the games. They didn’t play any but had fun messing around with the machines.

Emma of course was to old to “pretend” to play. LOL

After the girls were done we went to the mall and the girls starting looking at the shoes. Emma had two pairs of shoes picked out and ready to buy before Sophie had her first pair. Sophie is such a diva. She’s gotta try them on, talk about what outfits they will go with.  It’s really frustrating after awhile.

Sarah kept herself occupied trying on several different pairs of shoes on. She just loves shoes.

Finally we had two pair for Emma and Sophie found 3 pair and we were ready to check out. Got 5 pairs of shoes for $80 bucks. Yeah, thats a lot of money but for 5 pairs it’s really good.

As soon as we walked out of payless Sarah saw the play area and went ballistic. She just HAD to play and right now.

So I took her in there and all of a sudden she started running around and squealing. I’ve never seen her so hyper. It was like someone had slipped her some speed.

She had such a good time running, sliding,climbing and playing that she didn’t want to leave. In fact Emma had to carry her to the car kicking and screaming the whole way. Which is something Sarah has never done before.

She’s getting so independent. LOL She so wanted to play longer but it was getting late and we needed to head home. Once we got to the car she was fine. Turns out she was screaming because she wanted down to walk. Go figure!
